Woke up this morning after a dream with someone telling me to read Psalm 71:17. Picking up my Bible this morning, I found the following, “17 “Since my youth, God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.” I then noticed the following vs, “18 Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come.” With the writing of book 2 in progress, I just can’t help but feel God is saying this is exactly what He has called me to do and that He is confirming His will for it as well, that being old and gray isn’t so bad, in fact a good thing. Not sure if I will add this to the introduction or conclusion, but will definitely add this story. This is a ‘Faith Powered Journey’ and this is how faith works, seeking God with prayer and reading His word and He speaks. I really can’t wait to share this book with you. My goal from book 1 and continuing with this one as well, is if I can impact one life for Christ it is worth all the time and cost involved. This life we live here is so short compared to eternity and this Easter weekend we should all be considering the meaning behind what Christ did and why He did it. John 3:16 – 17.
Why do I write, why do I feel compelled to share my stories with the world? For the same reason someone once took the time to share their stories in a book I read, ultimately leading me to see my need for a relationship with Jesus that would transform my life, and that is to glorify God. That was almost 38 years ago and God has laid on my heart to do the same, share my stories of how He transformed my life, answered prayer and proved Himself to be the faithful God of the Bible He claims to be. I have seen it at work in my life and shared some of that in my first book, “Momentum: The Transformational Power of Leadership.” Book 2, “Momentum: A Faith Powered Journey” will take the reader deeper into the story, starting from the beginning when I had no faith in God, where I was at, the events at that time and how Jesus showed up and transformed my life. I will then share the stories, some of which are shared in book 1, but now behind the scenes and putting the events in chronological order so you can see for yourself how God was orchestrating everything to bring about His plan for our life. The goal is to encourage the reader, that no matter what’s going on in their life, to see that God is in control and will take them through the hard times. It just takes time and sometimes the journey is smooth sailing, quick answers to prayer and other times it seems the boat is about to break apart and you’re wondering where God is. I really can’t wait to finish it and share it with you. I pick back up writing this weekend with the goal of publishing by the end of the year. “Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.” 2 Corinthians 9:13
You message is very simple and well- demonstrated. It isn’t about the flavor of the day trend. It is about trust and integrity and letting the people you work with know consistently you are in it with them and have their backs. Add a little fun and let them know they are appreciated. I love that you show what real leadership is NOT as well.Great messages with a reminder that God has taught us this message from the very beginning. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I enjoyed reading the book. Best wishes on the book’s future success. Sincerely,Julie Doerschler
I’ve heard this question many times in my life. Sometimes from believers, sometimes from those still seeking God, but both groups searching for the same thing, “Does God still care enough to listen to my heartfelt cry because I don’t hear His voice?” Our relationship with God is a reflection of how much we value Him and what we are truly seeking from Him. Do we do all of the talking in our time of prayer or is our time balanced where we give Him opportunity to speak? If God knocked on your door this morning and sat down for a cup of coffee with you what would you say, what would that conversation look like? Would God end up leaving with so much on His heart He had to tell you, but was not given enough time to speak as you did all the talking? Our prayer life should be a time to both share the concerns of our heart and then take time to listen for His voice. He still speaks, the question is are we pausing enough in our conversation to allow Him to do so?
Read this quote this morning and thought I’d pass it on to encourage you today. Sometimes, life hits us hard and we often wonder what God is up to. A.B. Simpson offers this word of encouragement, “When God wants to bring more power into your life, He brings more pressure.” Whatever you’re facing today, know that God loves you and has a plan and a purpose behind it. How we respond under pressure reveals a lot about our character and who we are trusting in. Ourselves or God? Take your burdens to God and ask Him to give you a new awareness of His presence in your life.
